TRANSLATION
1) His arms extend to His knees and He appears to be like a golden doll. His form is adorned with a cloth that has the color of the rising sun. His beauty is incomparable.
2) His magnanimous form shines brightly with a beautiful smile radiating from His lotus like face. His large and prominent chest and broad shoulders are even more majestic than a lion’s.
3) His toe nails are brighter than the full moon and golden anklebells adorn them. Seeing His exquisite beauty to be more brilliant than the sun, the entire world becomes enchanted.
4) The incarnations for the age of Kali are Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu. Without considering whether one is sinful or a miscreant, They distribute Their mercy. Vrndavana dasa sings glory of These two personalities: His worshippable Lords Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu.

3) Their limbs are anointed with sandal paste. Raising Their arms, They chant, "Hari!"
4) In this way They manifest the nama-sankirtana movement, the movement of chanting the holy names. Vrndavana dasa thus sings Their glories.

TRANSLATION
Refrain: Nitai is within and without. He is everywhere within this world. He is the lover and He is the sweetheart.

1) Everyone says it. Nitai is my regulative principles, my object of worship, and the light of my eyes. Nitai is in all ten directions. In fact, He fills all the three worlds.
2) Nitai as Ananga Manjari eternally serves sweet Srimati Radhika. He is non-different from Baladeva, whose beautiful face resembles millions of moons and is surrounded by sakhas and sakhis.
3) The sister of Radharani, Ananga Manjari, is very dear to Sri Syama, and she is the life and soul of all the sakhis. She decorates the arena of the temple named Mani Mandira.
4) Nitai sustains the yogapitha and becomes a throne for the Lord to rest on. Nitai is also the dress and ornaments.
5) He enjoys pastimes with the sakhis. What more can I say? Nitai is the eyes, mouth, and limbs of everyone. Nitai, Nitai, Nitai, Nitai, I see only Nitai dancing.
6) Raising my hands and chanting Nitai, I will go to Vraja. I, Vrindavana dasa, only request Nitai to kindly never leave me.

TRANSLATION
1) Glory, glory to Lord Nityananda. He is Lord Balarama Himself. To deliver the fallen sinners He extends His two arms.
2) His half words spoken in a choked voice are the sweetest nectar. Whomever He sees He hugs in the ecstasy of spiritual love.
3) His eyes are always restless. They are like two black bees flying among golden lotus flowers.
4) Lord Nitai is the master of mercy. Seeing the people tormented by troubles, He strings for them a necklace of Lord Hari’s holy names. To person after person He gives that necklace.
5) The arrogant blasphemers and sinners He rips into shreds. To the poor fallen people He gives the gift of ecstatic spiritual love.
6) Calling out, “O! O Gauranga!”, He falls to the ground. His whole body is soaked with tears.
7) In his heart Vrndavana dasa thinks: Now Lord Nityananda is like a golden Mount Sumeru fallen to the ground.

1) To the great fortune of the people, Gaura hari to world has come, revealing his world-enchanting beauty like an idol made of gold.

2) With the nectar-tonic of Hari's names he has revived, the sleeping souls of the turbid kali age.
3) The most excellent and illustrious lord, in the company of Nityananda, the preceptor Advaita and Gadadhara, shines resplendant in the midst of his devoted train.
4) The khol and the karatalas and booming mandiras resound, and Gora, in his ecstatic trance cries, "Hari bol!" to all.
5) With arms uplifted dances the lord, son of Saci, and so dances Ramai sundara and Raghunandana too!
6) Srinivas and Haridas and the scholar Vakresvara, and Dvija Hari das dances and the scholar Sankara.
7) Hail, all hail and yet again all hail; the world is filled with exultant cries of triumph, and Vrndavana das becomes deeply immersed in rapturous delight.

TRANSLATION
1) Nitai and Gaura gunamani are dancing and dancing, with beloved Gadadhara on Their left, and Srivasa and Advaita [on the right] while Their associates defeat the stars [that surround the Gaura-moon].
2) The mridangas and karatalas are played and sweet songs are sung. The sky is filled with the chanting of harinama.
3) His body is anointed with sandal paste and drops of Holi juice, and a forest flower garland dangles nicely across His chest.
4) A white brahmin thread hangs across His neck, His form defeats millions of Cupids and anklebells jingle on His feet.
5) The two brothers are dancing and Their associates sing while Gadadhara's body is pelted with powder.
6) Now the Lord re-manifests His previous joyful Vrindaban pastimes in this Nadiya.
7) Now He enjoys on the bank of the Ganga just like in Vrindavan's Dhira samira kunja. Vrndavana dasa tells you, for he knows it.

2) His form is graceful and glorious. His complexion defeats gold. His long arms reach to His knees. Manifesting the form of a sannyasi, He is overcome by tasting the nectar of love for a person who is actually Himself. How does He dance in such ecstasy? I do not know.
3) O Sri Gaurasundara, O ocean of mercy, glory to You! O king of Vrndavana, glory to You! O king of Navadvipa, please give the shade of Your lotus feet to this wicked Vrndavana dasa.

TRANSLATION
(Refrain) With thousands and thousands of forked tongues moving in thousands of thousands of mouths, Lord Ananta-Nityananda chants the glories of Lord Gauracandra. Goddess Maha-Laksmi places Lord Visnu-Gauracandra's feet on her chest.
1) O devotees of Lord Gaura and Lord Govinda, O rasikas, please hear of the Supreme Lord who is Lord Visnu and Lord Maha-Visnu. His toenails are the abode of the Brahman effulgence. He is the life's breath of the sages and demigods.
2) Externally His complexion is fair. In His heart His complexion is different. His external complexion glistens with the color of Sri Radha's limbs. He enjoys pastimes on a thousand-petal lotus, a lotus with four gates.
3) His abodes are Goloka, Vaikuntha, and Svetadvipa. Any single one of His names is a shoreless ocean of bliss. He is Vasudeva, Sankarsana, Pradyumna, and Aniruddha, who have abodes in the four directions.
4) Reclining on the lap of a snake king floating on the ocean of milk, He enjoys pastimes of mystic sleep. That snake king is the origin of all avataras. He is the master of Svetadvipa. He is Lord Ananta-Nityananda.
5) On each of Lord Ananta-Nityananda's thousands of hoods rests a jewel crown. His white body glistens with many colors. How many associates has Lord Visnu-Gauracandra? Sanaka-kumara, Sanat-kumara, and a host of sages and demigods joyfully glorify Him with prayers.
6) How many Brahmas are born from each one of His body's pores? Each Brahma begets a great variety of creatures. Ramacandra and the other avataras are all His plenary parts. They are the rulers of the universes.
7) In this way Lord Visnu-Gauracandra enjoys pastimes without end. How many worlds of maya does He create? His eyes are quivers filled with sidelong-glance arrows aimed at Sri Radha. Above the material world is His spiritual abode, which bears the name Sri Vrndavana. Thus the devotee who bears the name Vrndavana dasa sings His glories.

TRANSLATION
1) I perpetually worship Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the root of the Krsna-bhakti tree, whose bright face mocks the full autumn moon, whose pure complexion glistens, whose gait is like that of a maddened elephant, who is always intoxicated in Krsna-prema, who embodies pure spiritual energy, whose face holds a gentle smile, whose eyes are always rolling due to His absorption in Krsna-prema, whose lotus hand holds a glowing staff, and who, by the performance of nama-sankirtana, pierces the influence of Kali-yuga.
2) I perpetually worship Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the root of the Krsna-bhakti tree, who is the mainstay of all the rasas, who is everything to His devotees, who is beyond compare, who is the master of both Vasudha and Jahnava-devi, who consider Him more dear than their own lives, who is always maddened in Krsna-prema, and who is unknown only to those of meager intelligence.
3) I perpetually worship Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the root of the Krsna-bhakti tree, who is very dear to Sri Saci-nandana, who is worshipped by the entire universe, who is the embodiment of happiness, who possesses infinite mercy for delivering the souls who are drowning in the age of Kali, and who, by the performance of sri-harinama-sankirtana, thwarts the progressing false pride of the ocean of repeated birth and death.
4) I perpetually worship Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the root of the Krsna-bhakti tree, who said to Sri Krsna Caitanya, "Hey brother Gauranga! What will be the destination of the sinful souls of Kali-yuga and how will theyt be redeemed? Please devise a method by which they will easily attain You."
5) I perpetually worship Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the root of the Krsna-bhakti tree, who wandered around Bengal and, approaching the door of each and every home, threw open His arms and exclaimed, "O brothers! All of you should eternally perform sri-harinama-sankirtana together. By doing so, I will take the responsibility to deliver you all from the ocean of material existence."
6) I eternally worship Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the root of the Krsna-bhakti tree, who is the Agastya Muni who forcibly swallows the ocean of repeated birth and death, who is a rising full moon which increases the ocean of the saintly persons' welfare, and who is a sun which dissipates the darkness of ignorance cast by the various classes of miscreants.
7) I eternally worship Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the root of the tree of Krsna-bhakti, who wandered on every path in Bengal dancing, singing, and calling out "Hari bol! Hari bol!" and who lovingly bestowed merciful sidelong glances upon those who were not compassionate to even their own selves.
8) I eternally worship Sri Nityananda Prabhu, the root of the Krsna-bhakti tree, who held the supremely soft lotus-hand of His brother Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu, whose heart became filled with the highest bliss when the two brothers gazed into each other's faces, and who wandered here and there delighting the townspeople with His sweetness.
9) May Sri Nityananda Prabhu place His lotus feet in the heart of one who lovingly recites this unprecedented Nityanandastaka, which is the reservoir of rasa, the greatest treasure of the most exalted of rasika Vaisnavas, and the storehouse of the essence of bhakti-rasa. This astaka is sung in the melody known as 'Sikharini".

sarva mahā-prāyaścitta je prabhura nāma
se-prabhu nācaye, dekhe jata bhāgyavāna

prabhura ānanda dekhi’ bhāgavata-gaṇa
anyonye galā dhari’ karaye krandana

sabāra ańgete śobhe śrī candana-mālā
ānande gāyena kṛṣṇa-rase hai’ bholā

jateka vaiṣṇava-saba kīrtana-āveśe
nā jāne āpana deha, anya jana kise

jaya kṛṣṇa-murāri-mukunda-vanamālī
ahar-niśa gāya sabe hai’ kutūhalī

ahar-niśa bhakta-sańge nāce viśvambhara
śrānti nāhi kāra, sabe sattva-kalevara

ei-mata nāce mahāprabhu viśvambhara
niśi avaśeṣa mātra se eka prahara

ei-mata ānanda haya navadvīpa-pure
prema-rase vaikuṇṭhera nāyaka vihare

e sakala puṇya kathā je kare śravaṇa
bhakta-sańge gauracandre rahu tā’ra mana

vṛndāvana-dāsa tachu pada-yuge gāna
TRANSLATION
1) On Ekadasi day Mahaprabhu, who is the life and soul of all beings, decreed that every-one should gather for kirtana. Hearing the sound of His own name, He began to dance in ecstasy.
2) In Srivasa-angana, Srivasa Thakura’s divine courtyard, He inaugurated the auspicious reverberations of the kirtana in a booming voice: “Gopala! Govinda!”
3) In the courtyard the sounds of the mrdanga, small cymbals, conch, karatalas and beautiful singing all mixed together.
4) The loud sound passed through the entire brahmanda and filled the whole sky reaching Svetadvipa, destroying everything inauspicious in all the fourteen worlds.
5) From morning Visvambhara He who nourishes and maintains the whole universe by bhakti started dancing. Many groups sang charmingly – each group singing a different melody.
6) Srivasa Pandita was the guru of one group of kirtaniyas, and Mukunda was the lead singer of another.
7) Govinda Ghosa was the head of another group. Gauracandra danced in the middle of the whole kirtana party.
8) The mighty Nityananda Prabhu protected Mahaprabhu when He swooned while dancing as Advaita Acarya secretly took His foot-dust at that time.
9) Tears came to Gadadhara, Mukunda, Sridhara and others upon hearing Mahaprabhu’s kirtana, as the rising of asta-sattvika bhavas overwhelmed their hearts.
10) Visvambhara danced with so much force that the earth trembled, causing all the devotees to become afraid.
11) Sometimes Visvambhara danced so gracefully and sweetly that He appeared to be natavara Nanda-nandana, the best of dancers.
12) Mahaprabhu’s beauty is unequalled and unsurpassed; defeating even Krsna’s beauty even Krsna has no mahabhava. All His followers’ eyes filled with ananda seeing His dancing.
13) Mahaprabhu Visvambhara danced, absorbed in ananda. Hearing the rhythm of His dancing feet, the devotees became spellbound.
14) As Mahaprabhu danced, being filled with bhava, His garland could not stay around His neck but broke, all the flowers falling at the feet of His devotees.
15) The auspicious sounds of sri harinama-sankirtana spread in every direction while Jagannatha Misra’s son danced in the midst of all the devotees.
16) Siva chants the same blissful name and becomes so absorbed in prema that his cloth falls down. Hearing Mahaprabhu’s glories, Siva starts to dance, and Mahaprabhu, hearing His own glories, also dances.
17) By this same nama Valmiki achieved the wealth of austerity – he saw all Rama lila. And by this same nama all of Ajamila’s anarthas and aparadhas were pulled out by the root.
18) Hearing sri krsna-nama totally cuts all worldly attachments. Sri Krsna Himself came in Kali-yuga as Mahaprabhu, dancing and advising all to chant krsna-nama.
19) Sukadeva and Narada also chant this krsna-nama and distribute it. With thousands of tongues Mahaprabhu sings the glories of this nama.
20) Taking Mahaprabhu’s name constitutes the highest form of atonement. Seeing Mahaprabhu dancing, the devotees became supremely fortunate.
21) Seeing Mahaprabhu’s bliss, the devotees embraced each other and wept loudly as the rays of Mahaprabhu’s ananda entered their hearts.
22) All the devotees attended kirtana and Mahaprabhu personally decorated their bodies with candana and garlands. Sri Gaurasundara and the devotees sang and tasted krsnarasa with great joy.
23) Absorbed in kirtana, all the Vaisnava devotees completely lost sense of their own bodies and everyone else around them.
24) “Jaya krsna, murari, mukunda, vanamali.” Day and night all the devotees sang kirtana in great happiness.
25) Visvambhara danced twenty-four hours with His devotees but never tired, because His body was sattva-kalevara, fully transcendental.
26) Daily Mahaprabhu in full prema danced in kirtana the whole night, and only stopped three hours before sunrise.
27) Daily Mahaprabhu, the hero who enjoys the prema-rasa of Vaikuntha Svetadvipa, tasted and distributed great bliss in Navadvipa.
28) Gauracandra and all His associates enter in the hearts of the devotees who hear the allvirtuous hari-katha with full faith. Thus their hearts become Srivasa-angana.
29) Vrndavana dasa says, “Sri Krsna Caitanya and the moon-like Nityananda Prabhu are my life and soul and I offer my dandavat-pranama at Their lotus feet.”

TRANSLATION

1) [Sri Krsna speaks:] Hear Me, O Radhe! I am under your control! I don't think of anyone else with pleasure than You! My heart cannot remain peaceful when I do japa of Your name and I meditate on Your form.
2) My mind runs to any place where I hear someone saying 'Sri Radhe, Sri Radhe!'. Just as a cataka bird stares at the rain cloud, similarly I stare at Your moonlike face.
3) My flute is staying in my hand and is loudly crying out 'Radha!' as long as I don't see You. When I hear the sound of Your ankle bells with My own ears, then My heart comes at ease.
4) Of the two names Radha-Krsna, You are the first one, and I long for you! Everything will become perfect if I can touch your feet. Such is the aspiration of Vrndavana Dasa.
